My Nicknames...
Nicknames...
We all have our fair share of it...
Nicknames can be both a good and a bad thing...
Good nicknames...
It symbolises acceptances, becos only close friends and family members will go through all the trouble to think of something just for you and you only...
Not too mention all the brain cells needed to remember the nickname and the energy required to keep up with the constant usage of it...
Bad nicknames...
It can be a unfortunate thing too...
Think of a poor, oily-pimply faced, messy long hair boy, carrying tons of library books, lurking around at a corner of the canteen...
Names like... err... er... Some mean people will give him nicknames but I'm not mean thus I can't think of any right now...
Hmmm... Face oil blotter might be suitable... Oops...
Okay okay...
Presenting...
My nicknames through the years...
Primary School Years
I hate this one...
I'm called UIC, for no bloody good reason!!!
By the way, UIC is the name of a brand of clothes detergent...
Well, little kids, certainty have not much imagination... Watch too much TV, and thus bingo, that's where they got the "inspiration" from...
I hate hate hate this name, but sad cos this is one prominent nickname...
This is a Bad nickname...
Blast that bloody girl who started it...
Secondary School Years
Here is the bulk of all the nicknames...
All given to me by my Gang, all from my secondary school...
The very first nickname was given to me by... I forgot who was it...
My nickname was Miss Tan, after the once-popular TV show City Beats' hostess...
The hostess, Kym Ng, had role-played a prim and proper miss perfectionist by the name of Miss Tan, whose wardrobe consist mainly of nerdy secretary clothes, and almost every sentence she made will always be punctuated with the phrase "She Mo Duo Ke Yi" (everything also can do) etc...
They (my classmates) all say that I'm very much like her, cos I "She Mo Duo Ke Yi", I can Study, I can Run, and I can Draw...
And most importantly, my surname was Tan... Wah liao...
After that, the next nickname I received was Ah-Tan...
Cos back in those lower secondary school days, I was still a very young and foolish little girl, trying very hard in search of my Identity, my Style, my Personality etc...
Since I had been on the receiving end of bullying in primary school, I have decided to shed my goody-goody-oh-so-girly-little-timid-weak-girl image...
I became the direct opposite, the very person whose personality I would have admired in primary school...
In other words, I became a Tomboy, a very loud an irritating noisy chatterbox whose sole purpose in school would be giving hell to the person I dislike...
Okay, maybe I'm not that bad la, but I do know that I would hate myself if I ever repeat my childish behaviour again...
The origin of this nickname came from two sources...
One of them would be, ZW, while the other would be XHQ, the guy who was most kena by me in secondary one (think: drawing on his tables, pushing/shoving him, mocking/insult him, messing up his hair, drawing on his shirt using a chalk etc...)...
I'm called Ah-Tan cos it sounds like the name of a gangster, as said by XHQ, who sometimes even called me "Da Jie Da (Big Sister) of Bukit Batok"...
I sort of terrorised him for the sake of terrorising, and probably because he abit show-off that type, and that he sits just behind me so very convient...
But nevertheless, he was still a very nice guy, for he didn't hate me for what I did to him...
I'm Sorry!!! For all those times!!!
I really regret all my childish behaviour back than, I dunno why I did such stuff, probably becos I get a high when doing it, as I was on the giving end instead of receiving...
Sigh...
And ever since the Ah-Tan nickname was invented, another variation also sprout out...
Called Tan-Ah-Tan, which is mostly used by HY and a few others...
Another nickname of mine with "Tan" in it was... TAN-garoo... You know, as in Kangaroo?!
JX is JIA-lephant from Elephant, and ZW is WEI-popotamus from Hippopotamus...
Very lame right?? I also dunno why we just came up with this, I think it has got something to do with JX's nickname, who came out first, before me and ZW decided to go the same...
Me and ZW were also very Nerdy looking, or very TUT in lower sec...
We look similarly too, for we sport the same look of :
1) Short curl up hair...
2) Round faces...
3) A little chubby figures... (baby fats la... hahaha)
4) Small eyes...
5) Freckles...
6) Nerdy spectacles...
7) Wearing school uniform the nerdy way... (skirts touching knee and below, shirts tucked in nicely)
8) Long legs, short body...
9) Unruly eyebrows...
10) Too much to describe...
The main gist is... We Are Very TUT!!!
Hence our nicknames were Madam TUT (ZW) and Xiao TU TU (me)!!!
Especially when we ham it up by buttoning up all the way to the collar button and keep fingering our spectacles...
Wah!!! Crazy sia~
Here's a sample to fuel your imagination:
Oh ya, my friends weren't the only one who gave me nicknames...
My brother gave me many too...
Of which Shi-Wan-Tan was the funniest...
Cos in chinese, it literally means "Shi, Wan Tan le!!!" (die, I'm doom!!!)
-_-;
Junior College Years
Some of us (gangst3rs) gave each other a nickname for fun again...
I am a Monkey because I can be very hyper and energetic like a monkey, ZW was a Goat for no good reason, HY was a Cow because she is our "Nai MA" (nanny), MF a Human and YL a Pig (you should know why... heeheehee)...
Hahahaha...
My JC classmates also gave some of us nicknames too...
For the first few months, some guys decided to match each class members with an animal to form a Zoo...
I'm a Hyena, no prizes for guessing why... (my laughing was well known for its horribleness)
And then, when the Lord Of The Rings crazed was very high, the guys also match some of us up with different LOTR characters...
Guess what they gave me??
Shelob the spider...
Because, according to G, Shelob sounds like SHIlob (my name) and I am as fierce and agressive as that overgrown spider...
But I protest...
I say I prefer Eoywen because she was a very brave and good female warrior, and Eoywen can also be made to sound like EoyWAN...
In the end, my nickname was Eoywan Shilob... -_-;
And everytime they saw me, either G or stupid DR will pretend to hold up a phial and mutter some elvish words to ward me off... (as shown in lotr's The Return Of The King, there was a scene between Frodo or Sam versus Shelob the freaking spider...)
University till now
I have quite a number of nicknames liao, ever since I started school...
The first of which, is Lame Queen, thought up by AM...
Cos I keep crapping...
And in many of the games (played in CAC camps, or during chalet) in which their answers or solutions were very Lame, I usually get it correct...
And than, for no better reason, an army buddy of DR saw my photo once, and proclaimed that he knew my character...
According to DR, that buddy of his said that I must be a very fiery type of person aka quick temper, stubborn, fierce, violent type etc...
And so, that guy called me Xiao La Jiao (little chilli)...
-_-; like that also can...
I also got another friend, who via Msn, saw an Emoicon of a Ninja Turtle jumping around...
And he says that it reminds him of me...
Cos I'm always jumping around, very hyperactive type...
So I looked like this??
Hmmm... Maybe with that very big and heavy Green bag of mine, ya, I can pass it off...
So I'm a Ninja Turtle...
And I call him Beany, cos he looks like this emoicon...
Well... You know, those kinds, always act cool one... Hahahaha... Kidding...
Not only that, the very same Beany also like to call me ShiShi or WanWan...
Eeeeerrrryyyuuuuuuurrrrrrrkkkkksssssss...
Oh man... I don't like!!! The nickname so >_<;...
Hey beany, how would you like it if I start calling you HuiHui or YiYi~ complete with the long dragging teh teh sound... Gross... Hahahahahaha...
Then currently, me and ah mui also give each other nicknames as well...
She named me as Tomato cos I always wear red and I like eating tomatos while I call her Brinjal since she loves Purple so much... (one of her friends call her a purple freak... hahaha)
What a very "healthy" friendship we got there...
Last but not least...
My Little Squirrel naming me as Baby Peacock...
Heeheehee...
I know some of my friends always a bit "goosebumps" whenever they came across these two nicknames in my blog...
I shall tell you the history of these two names...
Me and my friends always like to talk about our crushes, and since it is a secretive thing, we always gives nicknames to the boy...
So far, YL got Xiao Ma, Xiao Tu Zi, R, etc etc etc la...
Initially, when I begin to start liking him, I also gave him a secret name, which is Xiao Song Shu, or little squirrel in english...
And when me and little squirrel get together officially, he also wants to give me a pet name too...
So he start calling me "Master", cos like that I can call him my pet squirrel mah...
But a bit awkward la, hahahaha, so he had to search for a new name instead...
He came upon the idea of calling me a peacock cos I did a personality test before, which will separate us into four types of animals, namely Peacock, Dove, Eagle and Owl...
My personality type was Peacock-Dove, but very very near to Peacock...
So that's how my pet name came about!!!
I became Baby Peacock, cos when I sleep, I looked like a baby!!!
The End lar...
Hahahah...
There...
The History Of My Nicknames...
What's yours than??
