Treetop Trail Outing @ MacRitchie Reservoir - 21/12/2008

Ah, after hearing so much about this place, I finally have the chance to explore it!!!
And along with the some excited BHID volunteers, we set off to explore MacRitchie reservoir!!!

Yesh sire!!! We are so excited!!!

Walking towards the MacRitchie reservoir...

It is still 1.4 km till TreeTop Walk!!!
Wah so far arh...

In case we get lost...

And then we see some funny signs...

Along the way we stopped at the Ranger Station...
There's toilets, benches, maps and most importantly, water coolers!!!
Just nice for a tired adventurist... But we have only just started, so did not make full use of the amenities provided...

Resting for a while and away from the sun...

We came across a sleeping log...

And I disturbed it...

It is very sunny indeed...

And we reach the TreeTop Walk!!!

All feeling very excited!!!

Down the stairs...

We reach the entrance of the TreeTop Trail!!!

When I'm happy, I tend to do stupid things...

Wheee!!!

WOAH!!! It is high!!!

If you stand around long enough in the middle, you will feel the bridge swaying from the wind!!!
Exciting sia, let's do it again!!!

After Tree Top Trail...

So... Many... Stairs...

Must be the heat...
Yes... Heat stroke indeed...

Jeremy thinks so too...

Grand senior is reminiscing the good old days when he had to walk 1.2 km just to get to school...

Next stop...
To Jelutong Tower...

0.9 km!!! It's not that far after all when we conquer the TreeTop Trail...

Discussing seriously over the map...
We dun wanna get lost in the woods...
Hahaha...

Along the way, we see many trees that were being cut down...
Probably to make way for the trail and to ensure the visitors safety (no falling branches etc)...

Now this looks like an entry way to a very spooky castle...

*Imagination Activate*

It was a cold night. The wind was blowing hard throughout the lands.
Whipping the long strands of hair harshly across Her face.
The lone female cowered in the shadows, attempting to keep the cold away.
No. To keep out of sight.

'I must not be seen' she thought. 'Or it will all be for naught'

The Doorway was near, very near. She can do it, all she needs is some courage. But she also knew that the enemy is not far behind, and that knowledge alone is enough to make her tremble.

'The Doorway is near, but is the enemy closer?'

She heard a small slight breath near her ears, and then everything went silent.
But it was enough. She knew it was over.

Man, my imagination can go really wild sometimes...

Old man is very active, even with walking stick...

We are nearing...

It looks like an old bridge...

We can pretend all we want that we are some explorers lost in a jungle and trying to find our way out...
But just turn our heads to the right and we can see some nice golf course...
With uncles playing golf...
Arrrggggg fail... Not to mention the pathway is too nice...

Hi it's me again!

Finally, it is time to leave...
Cos we are all so hungry and tired...
And visions of hamburgers keep on dancing in my head...

And we made it out safe and sound!!

Xinyi is happy that we have all made it out in one piece...

And also very happy with her Bubble Tea...
(At Toa Payoh hub)

After stuffing ourselves with food and bubble tea/ice cream, some of us head to Marina Square...

And we saw this!!
(Remember the white balloon thingy at the Esplanade there??)
